Project Overview

Zerock Nigeria successfully executed a complex well restoration project for Shell in the challenging environment of Agbaya, Delta State. Operating in the deep swamps of the Niger Delta required meticulous planning and seamless integration of multiple disciplines.

Our end-to-end solution spanned from custom fabrication at our Port Harcourt facility to secure riverine logistics and precise cofferdam installation. The project demanded expertise in marine operations, civil and fabrication works, and high-security protocols in a sensitive environment.

Scope of work

  • Engineered and fabricated critical components, including steel sheet piles and a heavy-duty platform
  • Conducted detailed site surveys to ensure precise alignment
  • Planned and executed secure riverine logistics, mobilizing a dedicated fleet of barges, cranes, speedboats, and houseboats carrying the technical crew
  • Installed specialized cofferdam structures using steel sheet piles, certified divers, and industrial pumps to create a dry work area
  • Transported and installed the custom-built platform on pre-driven piles for final alignment and welding
  • Managed end-to-end project execution, ensuring adherence to strict safety, quality, and security standards
scope

Challenges

Restoring critical production for Shell in Agbaya’s deep swamp environment presented significant operational hurdles, with complex logistics, strict security requirements, and challenging environmental conditions.

To address these, Zerock deployed an integrated approach, engineering and fabricating critical components in-house, executing a secure and carefully coordinated riverine mobilization plan, installing specialized cofferdam structures to provide safe work access, and conducting precision platform welding and installation to ensure production could be safely restored.
